nastassja dagmar rosenfeld was born july 9th, 1987, to an unwed mother and a disinterested father. the mismatched pair remained together until the early nineties, before eventually breaking things off in a surprisingly amicable fashion. ever independent minded, hilde rosenfeld found no complaint with single motherhood. in fact, she often preached how much she preferred it. but while her mother may have preferred the arrangement as it was, nastassja longed for the father figure she lacked in her life. though she knew it wasn't exactly the same, she latched on to her grandfather, who grew to be her closest confidant - and remains so to this day.

in 2002, hilde grew tired of her native germany, and the family of three subsequently made the journey to america, where they settled in denver, colorado. inspired by the american ideals of hard work and high salaries, hilde pushed her daughters in academics, all the while envisioning ivy league educations and high powered careers in their futures. average grades were therefore unacceptable, and failing grades were unfathomable. ever afraid to disappoint her mother, nastassja ran the academic gauntlet. she graduated at the top of her class both in high school and from wellesley college, and was even eventually accepted into a phd program at harvard. however, the reality of the direction her life had taken - one laid out by her mother, and not by herself - hit her hard the summer before her first semester at the prestigious university. in a series of rash decisions, nastassja withdrew from the program and applied instead to the university of denver. upon graduation, she accepted a position that, much to her mother's chagrin, is modest in salary, but a perfect fit to her talents and interests.

currently, nastassja allots the great majority of her time to work, though she occasionally finds the time to lighten up and indulge in more trivial pursuits.
